Array ( [sid] => 3440 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => New Doctor Visit, The [time] => 2002-09-06 12:23:09 [hometext] => Repost from old site...

I’m not one to go to the doctors, but well I needed a new primary care doc. So I found one and hope she will be a good one. Don’t ya just like them first time experiences, just when you think your all organized; you forgot something!!! And yes I do carry a backpack. I have no car, so I walk everywhere. I needed it today for shopping. Just my little quirky doctor’s visit tale!!!! LOL!!

[bodytext] => Here I had sat a little while ago,
Wondering when I get to show
The doctor my medical file
To my surprise it was a huge pile!
Of course be there half hour early
Then give your life history, surely!
Ah, hah… what does this mean?
A ton of signatures on a hundred pages it seemed,
Read that fine print; don’t want to be reminded
Of what to come, only to have YOU paying behind it!
The insurance two days earlier said now we had a co-pay
Yeah, well I forgot that, since we never did it before that way
Thankfully the clerk said I could pay
After I get out of work the next day!
Ok, so all that done, you wait; look around
The main desk, kids room, and a big fish tank you found!
Oh about 55 gal I'd say, with 4 little fishes and one big one
Bubba is his name, enjoying the rays from the sun
Well, my name got called; here I go…
My first new doctor visit, boy did my blood pressure flow!!
Nurse looks at me, I’m all red, my temp is warm
Oh that’s just my hot flashes deciding to swarm!
I sure did need to be relieved,
I had been holding it since I left, so now asked if a PP test was in need!
Instructions given, I start to do my business for sure!!
Gee, I forgot to lock that dang bathroom door!
Boy did I hold on for dear life, just as some stranger opened it!!
This time I made sure I locked and used my backpack to hold it!!
Finally can relax, seemed forever, that little cup I hold tight!!
Just about there, knock knock ... Nurse asked if ” I’m alright!!”
“ Leave me alone, I’m doing fine,” I said “(*&(%#@*) ” with a roar!!!
Oh, thank god, feel so much better, no mess on the floor!!
All done with that, back to the room, and wait…
Well my doctor enters, seeing no one at first
Because I’m reading on the back of the door, about a kneecap verse.
I step out and shake her hand, pleasant, young, understanding
Asking all those questions doctors do, but not so demanding
I talk, answer as best I can, and then await my fate
She has many patients, but has time for each to abate
She takes some time out to talk, listens and sincerely cares
About me, as I’m comfortable to share
Feeling much calmer, hoping she can help,
The clues of her writings, tuning to meet
My results are some ultrasound tests and blood
They get their two vials from my pelt!!
This time it hurt, my warm liquid flowing like a flood!
Thankfully that needle part done, short and sweet
Thanked everyone in the lab, my doc, how they endured my doubt!
Off I go to the check out
To see my next visit, make appointments
I’m not so tense now; I prayed I would make it about
In the new doc. office with no disappointments!!!!!
