--------------------------------------
We were pals me and bud
you were 3 when we met.
Your coat all black and shinny
Your eyes so big and brown
You barked and waged your tail
I want to play, I want to play.

The playful years went by,
but your zest for life kept going.
You were still a pup on the inside.
Only the grey told your real age.
Your life was starting to turn
another page.

One day I noticed you played
a little less.
You were happy lying in sleeply
dreamland.
The wag of your tail was slowing.
Your eyes were shinning less
that was the start of you tiring.
I guess.

No more would you play
In the house and sleep you`d stay.
I`d sit and watch and wonder.
In your dreams, do we still play.
Your the best pal I ever had.

Tonight I write this in silence.
Today I not only lost my dog
I lost my best pal to
some how I thought you`d be here forever.
Our secret talks that only we understood
are now silent forever.

Tonight your sleeping in heaven.
Never again will I say good night, bud
But what hurts the most is we never got to say
GOODBYE.
IN MEMORY OF MY BEST PAL THE ONE THE ONLY
BOUNCER.

I'm sorry for you loss...I'm sure Bud was your best pal, maybe because animals don't judge and are always happy to see you no matter what.I feel your pain, you expressed it nicely,I can't imagine losing my rabbit "Bundles",I love her to pieces!I kinda believe there's a place for animals in heaven(I know I know,it seems a little stupid)but how can there not be?!I'm sure you'll get to meet Bud again someday...Nicely written,
PumpkinPie
