I am not sure what I did wrong,
but I was somehow accused.
So, I will start from the beginning,
and then I will pay my dues.

I have wished upon a star,
just to see it gleam.
I walked through the valley,
just to wade in the stream.

I kissed a man underneath the moon,
then let him walk away.
I picked up a dying cat,
from his life of being a stray.

I have pondered over death,
and tried to reach his hand.
I have traveled far and wide,
to step foot on perfect land.

I sat upon a king's gold throne,
and was ravished with riches and more.
I have watched a woman die,
and then quietly walked out the door.

I have cut myself many times,
just to watch blood flow.
I have openly admitted to one,
that I really did not know.

I have walked through a graveyard,
and saw a ghost standing by a tree.
I have helped an eagle get well,
and then I set it free.

I made love underneath the stars,
and then bid that man good-bye.
I have went to the edge of the cliffs,
just to sit down and cry.

I have swam with the fairest of mermaids,
and let them braid my hair.
I have slayed an evil monster,
with just my evil glare.

I have touched an angel's wings,
and seen heaven through the gate.
I held the earth in the palm of my hand,
then came back, before it was late.

So, this is my final plea to the jury.
You see I am innocent, and you know it!
The only thing I am guilty of,
are the experiences of being a poet.

I loved this to death! So creative in your words, your rhymes, even the title. This shows immense talent, and will not soon be forgotten.

Truly,
-V.S.

This is entirely beautiful. Why plead anything else but guilty of being a poet?

Keep writing,
-Eve.
