Crystal droplets glisten on an open field,
The dew sits, suspended on the blades of nature,

The blackbird opens with song.
All is serenity.
The tranquillity of the sea moves gently with the wind.
The moon nestles quietly into the Unknown East.

A seed uplifts in the wind,
Spiralling away from the ground, down and down,
Unto the fertile ground.
The hedgerow rustles,
A hedgehog finds a safe place,
A place to sleep, to sleep, to hide.

A fell cry on the beach…
It reaches the grassy plain.
It shatters the fragile silence, lying open, lying free, lying vulnerable to all.
The tourists have come, to enjoy, to feast and to destroy the landscape.
The hedgehog stirs uncomfortably and the blackbird flees in terror.
The sea withdraws, moaning, and releases another pitiful breath unto the shore.

The sun rises above half of the Earth,
Crystal droplets glisten on an open field,
The dew sits, suspended on the blades of nature,
Lying open, lying free, lying vulnerable.

That line especially strikes a chord in me. You've created such a beautiful picture and then made me feel the anguish of a disturbed peace. Powerful words...
