[hometext] => For Nick upon the passing of his best friend.
[bodytext] => Did you see the black steed, bred for its wide belly and long spine? Did you see the mare's sleek hide, having no longer a coat for brushing, but panels for polishing? Panels polished so smooth that no tear born of Heaven or Earth might stick But instead, roll lazily down - Down past the curtained mane Down past the pregnant belly Down past the reflection of an orphaned witness, his youthful image aged in the distortion of the droplet's trail. Did you see in that moment two brothers suddenly parted? One, robbed of living his future, the other, of his living past - instantly becoming sole heir to a painfully finite wealth of shared experience, paid in a steady trickle of memory, no more tangible than the emtpied armour in the black beast's saddle. In truth my friend, none but you could see for our gaze does not reach so far as Understanding. And though Empathy does magnify Vision, in the end it is only a reflected image of Truth. But even for this, I grieve with you.
