We took our places - Beside another, beseiged our likeness
We were so right - At the right time - We melded so perfectly
The shy and bruised - Touching another - Where you were hurting and used
We helped each other - We healed one another
But now you freeze in me...

A cold reflection
You're a cold reflection of my past
A sore infection
You're a sore infection that wasn't suppose to last

So long together - However, absence was always there
I longed so much for you as your white words slip into my ear
Pet names were never cute enough to define you
I always thought that I would love you
We held each other - We hurt for each other
But now you sleep in me...

A cold reflection
You're a cold reflection of my past
A sore infection
You're a sore infection that wasn't suppose to last

BEFORE, it wasn't so hard - BUT NOW, its impossible
You always will be there - But I'm finding it hard to care
I'D RATHER HAVE YOU GONE
I'd rather have you gone, forever
I'D RATHER HAVE YOU GONE
I'd rather have you gone, forever...

Touching, you inside of my mind
Breaking, the crystals in line
Severed dreams, fleeing doll
A vast blood-soaked hall

But now you die in me...

A cold reflection
You're a cold reflection of my past
A sore infection
You're a sore infection that wasn't suppose to last

I can relate. I was in a relationship like that- that I clung to, but now I look back on it, and the memories are so distant and cold, I wish I could forget them, and I find I care not for that person any longer. I enjoyed this write. Excellent work.

It's so sad... as if you were standing and crying in a hall of mirrors and you saw all your pain reflecting from them.
This poem gave me the shivers.
