The winter was, so very hard that year, but somehow we made it
through. Than the floods came. On a cold summer day, and wash all of
the springs crops away. I can steel here and see daddy down on his knees
crying out, to the lord saying why? That was the only time that I had ever
seen. My daddy cry. I here so many powerful people say, If you work
real hard in life. That you can make your own way. But that’s not always
the case. Sometimes no matter how hard you work, you can’t always

That’s Not always The Case

Times are hard here; down on the farm. Daddy has just lost his
winter job. Mama don’t know what we are going to do. I here so many
powerful people say, If you want to find work you can today. But that’s
not always the case. Sometimes no matter how hard you work, you can’t
always make your own way.

Wo! this is sad!
the ones that say these things obviously have never lived on a farm. In the first place it takes
much guts ti live on a farm.
This is a very good write and I live in the Country where I grew up as a kid. I remember when my dad garden allday.
Course I realize the type of farm u are talking about but still it's the same priciple as Mom, us gorls would can the veggies that didn't sale or give away.
Those folks that preach that stuuf needs to be put on a farm for a year. Beet theycouldn't survive.
