Array ( [sid] => 33754 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Foolish Disguise [time] => 2004-02-04 00:37:43 [hometext] => this is a poem about my best friend and I, he and I were in love but obstacles kept us apart.. [bodytext] => If poetry can ease a troubled soul and mend a broken heart
Then why doesn't it soothe me while we are apart?
Quickly I write the words that go through my mind.
Looking for that piece that I know I can't find.
Until you are back here in my arms
Where I can shelter you and keep you from harm.
There is no way I can protect you from the things you feel,
Even though I know that your pain is real.
How do I turn away the love that you give?
When there are times it's the only reason I live.
Will you come to me if ever I call?
Or stand back and watch me as I fall?
When will the storm of emotions end?
Things were so much simpler when we were merely friends.
There are times I wish we could go back there again
Cause I know my love for you will never end.
Can you ever forgive me for the things I have done?
In the beginning I thought it was just innocent fun.
How do I get past those tears in your eyes?
The mask of friendship was a foolish disguise.
It is foolish of me to try to pretend,
Because I want to be with you life after life,
again and again. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 166 [topic] => 22 [informant] => SweetNess8003 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )
