Demanding to know where I’ve been
Wanting to know if I’m alive
Or if I’m hiding from someone

A stranger’s leaving me messages
Demanding me to pick up the phone
Wanting to know if I still care
Or if I would rather be alone

A stranger’s writing me letters
Demanding me to contact them
Wanting to know why I never even showed
Or if something just came up

A stranger’s driving by my house
Honking their horn many times
Yelling for me to come outside
‘Cause they want to talk to me

A stranger’s coming by my work
Asking where I am
Yelling because no one will say
They want to track me down

There is a stranger staring at me
Asking what went wrong
Wanting to know what they did

You are a stranger to me now
Don’t care who you really are
Or why you lied to me

I’m looking in the mirror
So very confused
‘Cause there’s a stranger staring back at me

Wonderfully abstract! is this poem all about not really knowing anyone even yourself? or something about identity and sub identities..or even a realisation of old age and that you have grown into something you didn't want to? I like it!

Wow what a twist, I was thinking the stranger was death, you were trying to get away from it. But this was very clever. I liked this very much. Once again I can relate, funny that. Good work here Fairy.

There's a lot of people or things that I could say the 'stranger' is, expecially myself.. I guess it's everyone and everything that I seem foreign to, yes it might even be death.. My mom had died about 3 months after I wrote this so who knows.. Thanks everyone for the comments.. it makes a world of difference..
