And I tried so hard it let goes of its hold on me
But I was in love, and before I knew
I had loved and lost it too
For I dared to love someone
So out of my reach
And now I can't have it undone
No matter how much they preach
Knew that love was an uphill ride
Knew it was going to be tough
Knew that only fools fall in love ,that's right
Never knew I was fool enough
But I had lost it before I even tried
Can't remember if I cried
All that I know now is this lonliness inside
And the pain that I can no longer hide
They say its better to have loved and lost
For you atleast know how it feels, while others do not
Anfd if you also say so ,I'll say this to you
You have never known the hurt it puts you through
But if you still don't believe me ,I'll tell you so
Love and lose; and then you'll know

GREAT WRITE , I like reading poems that I can understand I may not have to have the same experience but I hate reading poems that I have to sit and sit wondering what the poet is trying to say... love is a hurtful thing its a hard road and it is special tho when you meet that special one to share it with you but it is still a hard road. sandy

This one hurts me to read because I know how bad it feels to lose the one you love, but don't be "fool enough" to give up on love.

I'm going to post a poem I wrote last year for a young girl on another poetry site I used to go to.

Her boyfriend had just left her when he found out she was pregnant. They weren't married, and she was devastated by the way he just walked away from her and their soon-to-be child.

It's called Love Still Found Me.
