Just a woman wiping tears with her hand,
mascara with a Kleenex,
frozen at a stop sign.
Frozen by sadness in her glass showcase.
Exposed to the world uncaring.
A couple walks by hand in hand,
and the young girl looks through the windshield
at the woman in the car at the stop sign.
She cannot imagine what is wrong.
She looks away into some young man’s eyes.
Just a man, holding her hand,
walking beside her,
showing his love to the world.
An old woman in the yard across the street
watches the young lovers walk.
She pauses from her flowerbed,
lays down her spade, drifts into memories.
Just memories of giggles and stolen kisses
and all the joys of love.
Looking into eyes that hold you tight as a hug.
Memories of eyes she can never see again.
She returns to her snapdragons thankful
that days and nights and years
have taken her past the times
when she sat in a car
at a stop sign
crying.

I really liked the way everything seemed random to start with and then became connected at the end...really creative
