ARE YOU THE GRAINS OF SAND,
TRICKLING SLOWLY THROUGH
THE HOURGLASS, PERFECT AND PRECISE?
OR, ARE YOU THE HANDS OF THE CLOCK,
MOVING ENDLESSLY IN CIRCLES?
ARE YOU THE ROTATION OF THIS PLANET,
THE AWESOME SUNRISE AND SUNSET?
OR, ARE YOU THE ELLIPTICAL RING
CREATING SUMMER, WINTER, AUTUMN AND SPRING?
ARE YOU, JUST PAGES OF A CALENDAR?
ARE YOU DEATH, DECAY AND DESTRUCTION
OR HISTORY, PROGRESS AND EVOLUTION?
ANCIENT CIVILISATIONS AND GREAT KINGDOMS,
HAVE FALLEN PREY TO YOUR WRATH,
AS YOU CLEARED THEM FROM YOUR PATH
A MERE SPECK OF DUST,
I STAND BEFORE YOU
UNABLE TO COMPREHEND
YOUR ENDLESS EXISTENCE.
FOR ME, YOU ARE ETERNITY,
ANOTHER FORM OF GOD ALMIGHTY.

I don't dare to claim I got exactly your view, I think so, however. Time surely does have all names you called it, and wonderful they were :) for me time has two faces....it exists either objectively, in natural events and routines and then in what we, people, have called it and in numbers we tied it with.
Time is something....I donno and I'm hardly finding words...and now, the more I think about it, the less able to describe it I find myself....if we canť explain the limits of the universe and how it was created, who can explain how time has appeared in our world, how was it created? I don't think I will ever understand ;)
I really liked your poem, it made me think, and eventhough I'm not getting to answers, thank you :)

I dont ever try to understand time, i only have learnt in life that time is precious. Cause once it is past us, it becomes a memory... Great Poem...

Time is the illusion garnered by the passing of pre-destined events.
Or something.
Impressive write, this one.
Thanks for sharing. |
