Distraction, diversion
And Truth Perversion
This is the political way

Something you don’t want them to see?
Something that doesn’t help your cause?
Get them looking over there!
Then they don’t see your flaws

Want to imply it was really otherwise?
Want to make the facts nice and fuzzy?
Tell them something that will confuse
Make it all nice and blurry

This is the political way

In the age of information
They can’t keep their greedy hands away
Twisting the facts, manipulating your mind
It’s not about informing you today

It’s about easing their path
It’s about moulding your thinking
It’s a mental nod to their colleagues
Who stand there knowingly winking

Just telling you enough to confuse
And leaving it all unsaid
Their eyes are on their political goals
While it’s others who lie there dead

NEVER believe a politician
Not Republican OR Democrat
They all have their private agenda
And the cunning minds of a rat

So watch as Bush and his friends
Twist and manipulate your view
Telling you first it was this then that
Look carefully at what they do

They will say whatever it takes
They’ll twist and turn and lie
But always, always remember
It’s OTHERS who have to die
