Array ( [sid] => 3309 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Familar Upon [time] => 2002-09-03 13:29:25 [hometext] => Its just a poem, a fantasy...a battle of good and evil that can't be won, but with a little help, will never be hard. [bodytext] => The man drops his sword
Among the wounded and injured
The battle is won
The cries all around.

Sensing the presence of another
He turns around with an eye on his sword.

There in a mist
An Angelic creature emerges
Standing before him
He collapses to the ground.

She comes to his side
Laying her hands upon him
With the lightest touch
Her magic engulfs him.

She looks deep through his eyes
Where a warmness blankets him
The attraction that's building
Is deeper then love.

She stands before him
He gets to his feet
All wounds and injures
Now gone and healed.

He wishes to thank her
But no words to speak
Taking his hand to his heart
She places hers to the heart.

Without a word a voice is heard
"The battle is won, the people saved
For this I can give to all of you."
The soldiers he stands with soon emerge.

Looking at each other in dazzelment
"We should be dead."
The mist speaks softly
"You were in your head."

The man is greatful and offers her gold
"I don't want your money, just your word
Let me follow your battle
and be you familiar."

The man is puzzled and can't understand
"When your men are down
I'll pick them up again.
And never will they have to see the end."

The soldiers regroup, healed to fight
The horizon is bright, but without any light.

The wounds are healed
No blood on their swords
A place to camp
Is what they adore.

The mist backs away
Back up to the heavens
The soldiers look around
The man stares up high.

It's time to move on
More blood to be shed
They will march on
With the familar upon

They grab their swords
And march on
To the horizon they journey
With the enemy left behind.

They settle down that night
Wondering what's next that will ignite
The man looks to the heavens
With the silver moon so bright.

He touches his hand to his heart
A deep penetration then arise
There in his mind, without a sound
"I am with you, just look beyond." [comments] => 1 [counter] => 446 [topic] => 40 [informant] => country_mistress [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => fantasy )
