Array ( [sid] => 33060 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => MONTIE MOUSE [time] => 2004-01-29 00:18:49 [hometext] => Tomorrow will be Montie my son's 24th birthday. I created a poem that will last him forever.I have recorded the whole poem as if the little mouse is speaking. I read him all the Montie Mouse books when he was very young. He used to just love them! [bodytext] =>

So today is your 24th, huh Montie?
I must introduce myself.
My name is Montie Mouse.
I'm a friend of your mother's, Connie Sue
Please excuse my robe and slippers
I get so cold in Wyoming Winters.

In fact, Montie, you probably don't
know this, but you were named after me!
Do you remember all the times your Mom
read to you? I was there too, just we three!
Your Mom used to consult my advice,
whenever she had a problem.
Sometimes when she was glum, or lonesome.

I remember when you got your first glasses.
She came to me and ask,
"What will I do if he doesn't like them?
What if he refuses?
I had written a book called
"Montie's First Glasses,"
and so we read that to you,
and you just loved your specks!
They became one of your favorite objects!

Your Mom has always confided in me too.
I can't begin to tell you the times she
told me how very proud she was of you!
Even when you were a little boy
you always shared every toy.
When she cried, you cried too, and used
to hand her the box of kleenex.
Being kind for you was like a natural reflex.

Your Mom used to have
terrible migraine headaches!
and she would ask you to be very quiet.
I'd watch over you those times, and you
were as quiet as me, a little marmot.
Trips to the dentist, you asked a lot of
questions naturally.
But when things hurt, you used to
sit quietly, and most sturdy!

She told me how proud she was to take
you places with her.
You remembered your manners,
and couldn't have been nicer.
No, Mont, you weren't perfect,
you were an energetic, healthy little boy.
But I know you never hurt your Mom
once, you always just brought her joy!

I heard her prayers many a night
when you were sound asleep.
She was 43 when you were placed
in her arms and she would weep.
Always afraid that she may not live
long enough to see you grow into a man.
Today you are 24 years old, and I was
there when your life began.

I wanted to make this recording
for you to play on TV.
Because someday, your mother and
I won't be around for you to see.
I wanted to tell you how very much
she and I have loved you, every moment
for all your 24 years long.
Your Mom just told me today,
how proud she was to be your Mom,
and to you belong!

Happy Happy Day Montie
This is your "namesake" signing off for now.
May you experience all that happiness will allow
on this, your very special 24year day!
I love you,
"Montie Mouse"

Created especially
for you with love
Mom
*smiles and hugs*

You must know this is a keepsake,
To keep it would be no mistake,
Some day, when grand kids run about,
They'll be proud of grandma, have no doubt
