Array ( [sid] => 33002 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Father's Love [time] => 2004-01-28 15:19:10 [hometext] => A friend of mine has a father who acts like this. She loves him no matter what he does, but he doesn't treat her the way he ought to. [bodytext] => She's so alone in a world full of greed
So hard to keep her cool or do a good deed

She sits in her room staring at the wall
Her parents are fighting out in the hall

She's only six and doesn't understand why
Her father makes her mother cry

As she grows older she understands the pain
Her mother started crying when she found the lipstick stain

She still loves her father and tells him everyday
There's never and answer so she walks away

Now she's fourteen and can't even stand to look at him
She hates him now because he never took care of them

She looks at him with anger and disgust
Cursing for all the world his insatiable lust

He's always gone with one girl or another
He doesn't understand how much pain she suffers

When he gets old and dies of some weird disease
She'll wonder why he was so hard to please

Why he was incapable of loving his only daughter
Why he did the things he did without a care or bother

Then she'll tilt her head back and close her eyes
Not a tear will come as she remembers the lies

But she'll open her eyes and look at the clouds
She'll remember that God loves her and always be proud. I loved this especially the last line a very beautiful, honest poem.

For your friend: There is a saying I heard, " You can pick your friends but you can't pick your parents". Your friend has been made a stronger person for all she has suffered. My mom was like that so I know.

God Bless to her.
