HE was old but he loved her,
Cherished her all the same.
He thought he could tame her,
She thought it was a game.
As there time together wore on and on,
His only hope was for there love to be strong.
She turned him away on a cold winters night,
A telling blow that his heart couldn’t fight.
The pain in his chest was an unbearable torture.
The thoughts in his head a lamb to the slaughter.
He knew in his heart, he knew in his mind,
He had lost a treasure he couldn’t find.
Why bother living?
These thought he couldn’t fight,
Entering his nightmares into the night.
Awakening from sleep in a cold sweat and tears,
How in hell could he get rid of these fears?
His anger and hate was following behind,
Tearing from limb to limb, every person in his mind.
Blaming everyone including me and you,
He new in his gut what he must do.
So he started with rum and any smoke he could find,
There must be some way he could obliterate his mind.
He switched of from the world, didn’t give a *****.
He didn’t care; his world was a pit.
Life collapsed around him, everything fell away.
He knew deep in his stomach he couldn’t live another day.
So he started to think working his mind,
How he could orchestrate bring about his demise.
All this crazed nonsense entwined in his head,
He knew his life would be better of dead.
Her attentions toward him carried him on some more,
But every time he got closer she pulled away, destroyed.
Time was the only thing,
It carried him on regardless.
He started to think,
He could break away from this harness.
He looked at other life,
How lucky he really was.
She felt the loss of power,
Began to realize what she had lost.
They started to move closer,
He started to understand.
She started to see the love in him,
Not his age, the man.
Their love bought them together,
And then it tore them apart.
But eventually they joined again
And so found the secrets of their hearts.
