EVERY NITE AT DUSK

Contributed by emystar on Saturday, 24th January 2004 @ 05:14:19 AM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

In my childhood mind
like only yesturday,
he just turns to me,
smiles
jumps Dad's old
rail fence
and rides away.

There he sat
snow white
thru and thru
atop his glowing
white horse
as if I knew what to do.

Every night at dusk
always on time
he never said a word
while
passing this line,
turning to me
silently
he'd just
smile
guarding
my soul
all the while.

This is a true story
My Irish grand father passed a way with pnemonia long
before I was born.

Very nice poem.... I like how you move the poetry it has a mind of it's own. Watch..."there he sat thru and thru atop his glowing white horse as if i knew what to do." There is a beat in your word count. Do you write children stories? I'm sure your grandfather is always around... he'd love this poem. Great poetry keep up the good work!!

The stories we have not heard, locked in the vaults of the past..... ahhh....hmm..... Makes you think, you know? Of all the stories and emotions of the past.... so beautiful.....

An amazing story, making it all the better to be true.

God bless,
Ellen
