[title] => A London lamppost

[hometext] =>
[bodytext] => Ebbing away into silence,
The shadows of the dark, And the milky moonlight, Dancing its way through the fog, On the silent streets of London, A carriage moving away, And a lamppost standing alone, Quiet, as if staring at the pale silhouettes, Clichés echoing through the air, Formal ‘good nights’ and ‘Nice to meet yous’ Blend in with the night, And I watch closely though my bedroom window, As I lay down my self to sleep, I recall the promises I have to keep, I sigh and I call out to life, To wait…and time to stand, For a moment whence I don’t have to think, For a moment whence I don’t have to worry, For one moment when I don’t have to think about the moments that are to come, Just a single moment, and all the clocks grow cold, So I may rest and grasp a breath, And stare silently, Like the lonely lamppost outside.
