I saw God on the bus,
He smiled at me from,
The flatness of his advertisement.
I saw God rotting in the city,
Laying on top of the street vent,
Diverting the pedestrian crowd.
I saw God up in heaven,
In the form of bulky clouds,
That came to resemble a face.
I saw God in the blinding snow,
Of late January,
Cars driving slow and blue lights flashing bright.
I saw God driving quickly,
Down the industrial streets of town,
Fifteen hundred dollar ride.
I saw God in the flats,
Of Motorcity, Canada,
Beaded curtains and latenight breakfasts.
I saw God in the emptiness,
Of a creaky rented house,
Near the lake and the café.
I saw God in my dreams,
And waking quite afraid,
Found the sun had already passed through the sky.
