Life scripted..

Contributed by Disenchanted_Poet on Friday, 23rd January 2004 @ 09:04:50 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

This is the thing we call life,

This pain is my knife,
This rage I hide inside,
This anger is my pride.

Dismantled by hate,
Discarded by my final fate,
Dismembered by mental incapacity,
Dispelled by my frantic decree.

My Anger is my eyes,
My blood spills out from my cries,
My tongue lashes out at terror,
My heart breaks when I see life in my mirror.

In my thoughts what do I find?
In my thoughts hides the criminal mind.
In my thoughts I see anguish,
In my thoughts all the death can vanquish.

What we consider to be normal may not be,
What we consider normal for you is not normal for me,
What we consider fair play is playing dirty to someone,
What we consider fair game is a game nobody has won.

We look at life as we run by,
We look at failure as our way to die,
We look at success as our destiny,
We look at this through our eyes; do we have such audacity?

Why can’t we help the one that has fallen?
Why can’t we answer the cry of help calling?
Why can’t we stop for one moment and stand on our own two feet,
Why can’t we imagine a rose growing in the concrete?

Life is too short to continue with the path we are on,
Life is too short to not realize we are in some ways all alone,
Life is too short to smack love in the face,
Life is too short; can you handle the fall from grace?

Look inside your heart and see if you can agree,
Look inside your soul and tell me what you see,
Look inside yourself and you will soon learn,
Look inside the depth of my eyes, and my respect you will earn.
