COURAGE

Contributed by lovingcritters on Friday, 23rd January 2004 @ 07:09:24 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Sir Winston Churchill said of courage,
"Courage is the first of the human qualities
because it is the quality which
guarantees all the others!"

The word courage denotes the quality
of being strong, bold, daring, valiant.
Courage is the opposite of fear, timidity,
cowardice, and not gallant.
There are many different kinds of courage.
Such as the difiance of physical danger,
of this cat's courageous passage!

The act of courage on this cat's part is also
known as nerve. spunk, or backbone!
He knows full well, that any moment
those dogs are planning on
writing him a "tombstone!"
Yet, in the face of death, he refuses to give in,
A very daring cat, willing to take
that chance losing or win!

There is also another kind of courage
that lives within yourself.
A battle with Cancer, constant dizziness,
Arthritis, or perhaps like this gentleman,
who is not able to put his handicap on a shelf
It takes much courage with tenacity,
endurance, and heroic achievement
to go on like this..........
Awakening each day with the quality of his
life, takes bravery, for this he cannot dismiss!

This little lady riding on this bus is Rosa Parks
She had a very special kind of courage, she
lived down South and all her life, because
she was black, she was forced to live in
bondage!
She had much faith and courage of her
convictions, for one day she decided she
would no longer sit in the back of the bus!
She had courage of integrity and was
willing to pay the cost
even if it meant viciousness!

She was taken to jail, and fingerprinted,
but she never budged from her goal!
If need be she was well prepared
to give up her soul!
She wanted her freedom, and if it meant
taking her life, so be it........
She was tired of sitting in the back of the bus
just because her skin was black, she knew
she wasn't any different than us!

Courage today is so necessary, for we
live in a society that may guide
you in the wrong way!
Are you willing to have courage of your
beliefs, and not stray from what you believe?
It takes much courage to turn away from
all the peer pressure, for goals to achieve.
Courage of heart seems to be the most
difficult for us all today!
Keeping love in your heart, and goodness in
your soul, no matter how badly you've been
treated, never stop loving in abundance
each and every day!

"Live your life with
a courageous heart,
and a bold soul, and
you'll be blessed a
hundred-fold!"
