Captured voices run merciless
in my desolate ears
My peers, my fans, and my family
all want to interject
They insist respect, sex and scandal,
fame and glory
I tell my story: they all listen,
they all lie,
We all ask why I can’t try to explain anymore
I’m not a hor, I’m not a little girl,
I’m not anything
I just sing, I dance, I act, and I entertain
I have a name: a million sales, a million fans
And a million plans to play hide and go seek
I can’t meet one or two it’s thousands a day
A week, a month what can I say what do I do?
I can’t be you I don’t want to be me
I’m everybody in every column in every tabloid
I’m annoyed, I’m terrified,
I’m dazed and confused
I’d say I’m abused by the media, the paparazzi, the fanatics….

If I’m at a club I’m a topless dancer,
If I’m smoking I have lung cancer.
If I’m dating I’m having an affair
If I’m with friends I can’t go anywhere.

I try and stay alive hoping
more music is the answer
I’m a cancer spreading throughout the world
I’m that girl naked, tortured, and screaming
There’s no more dreaming
just watching and waiting
I can’t stop hating! I can’t stop wanting!
I’m not always flaunting I’m just like you
What would millions do for you
today and tomorrow
There’d be no need to borrow, no worries,
no time
It’s all mine: I can get anything I want
you’d think
Peace is a blink; a moment in time
a sleep at night
I think I might, I think I can
it’s then everywhere
No one could care except
loved one’s that share
I’m over there I’m over here & there I go
There is no place, there is no privacy,
This is no life......

If I’m singing I’m the world’s radio
If I’m at a party I’m everyone’s hero
If I talk the media will intrude
If I yell will I not be considered rude?

Can you be good all the time?
Make no mistakes
No heart breaks, no kiss to tell
Is this hell is it worth the money
It’s not funny, it’s not real, it’s not my life
If I’m a wife, I’m pregnant, and If I die
My family will cry, my fans will ask why
But the media will try
to make my legacy continue
A book review: my past lovers, my first time
My innocent crime my friends fears
My first loves tears they’ll never let go
I’m an echo in an empty concert hall
A shadow on the wall, a star in the sky
All I wanted was to try and make people dance
Put them in a trance make them my audience
With persistence I got their I’m here now.

I’m every little girl’s fantasy: thank you
I’m every man’s fantasy too.
I’m one of the best selling artists in history
I’m a pop icon with her story.
