Array ( [sid] => 32478 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The World Turns [time] => 2004-01-23 07:25:54 [hometext] => all poems i write are related one way or another to alzheimers, a tragedy all need to be aware of [bodytext] => thoughts fly left thoughts fly right
they go up they go down who keeps track
some even go in some even go out what fun
where do they all come from and why who cares
as the world turns so do the ideas

i draw my words from my mother she never knows
she has been a fountain of wealth for me
she is a simple woman whe came up with alzheimers
this terrible disease that is destroying her mind
as the world turns so do the ideas

she never held a fancy job hated being a school teacher
a plain housewife who raised four children as she could
she iike my father made her mistakes in her lifetime
so i try to understand the best i can sometimes not well
as the world turns so do the ideas

her mind only understands her own feelings the hurt of
another especially a daughter she never knew does not come
to play in her world only her sons remain that world keeps
the two who are gone alive i dont belong to that world how sad
as the world turns so do the ideas [comments] => 0 [counter] => 145 [topic] => 39 [informant] => maryetta [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
