Tried to listen to all;
To force myself to understand
If only I could fly
If I could save the day
Like I want to
I’m sure I’m not crazy…
…Or anything

I’m really not that naïve
I act like some girl in some funny red sheet
Even I have the right to dream
About some things; things I’ll never meet

I’m more than a mind
I’m more than a soul
I’m more than some words
Sung over the radio
It’s really not easy being me

I wonder if I can cry someday
Just break down and fall to my knees
And find some way to tell untruths
About what I want to be

It sounds quite bizarre
But don’t be naïve
Even wannabe heroes like me
Have a right to dream

I’m more than a mind
I’m more than a soul
I’m more than some words
Sung over the radio
It’s really not easy being me

It’s over the clouds for me.
It’s all right;
I’ll try to sleep sound tonight.
I’m sure I’m not crazy…
…Or anything

And when that time comes
When I can’t dream big anymore
At least I’ll know I did
Sometime long before

I’m more than a mind
I’m more than a soul
I’m more than some words
Sung over the radio
It’s really not easy being me

What if I couldn’t fly?
What if I wasn’t strong?
What if I would always cry;
What if I didn’t get along?

Wonder how I’d live
If I wasn’t this way now
A hero’s what I’m gonna be
But I’m not sure exactly how

I seem quite absurd
But can’t you conceive?
Even wannabe heroes like me
Have a right to dream.

I may never fly,
But I’m too strong to fall.
I’ve been through every storm
I’ve seen it all.
I’m sure I’m not crazy…
…Or anything

I’m more than a mind
I’m more than a soul
I’m more than some words
Sung over the radio

I once had this same malady...to be a hero and save the world....I don't know about you but I soon learn that it doesn't pay to be a hero and the world do not want to be saved....let live and get real...at least that is my take on things....dreams are enough perhaps but reality bites. Anyay nice poem.
