Pure as love and foul as blight,
Filled with joy and wracked with pain,
Warm as sunshine, cold as rain,
Power for good and power for ill,
Loved by all yet lonely still,
Penned with love, scrawled with hate,
Blessed by God and damned by Fate,
Care for all, obsessed by ME,
Locked in chains but always free,
New as birth and old as time,
Stumble in free verse, dance in rhyme,
Question evil yet don't ask why,
Love to live but lust to die.

Enchanting rythm, catchy rhyme. Need I say more? Those are the distinguishing traits of a poet; none else so finely dance with words to life's melodious beat. I like this poem a lot; it strikes a bell, and resonates the emotion within me.

Is it really that a poem is always free? Constraints are of the writer's heart, but the freedom of a poem is its most vast discouragement. A possible variation: "Unrestrained, but never free." It seems of higher verisimilitude to the succharine enigma of writing.

Aslo, your poem's power lies in its subtle, yet omniscient voice. The capitalization is almost unnecessarily added; the emphasis is inherent, and it's the sweetest little line I've read in ages.

Well, good job. I'm going to go read more of your poems now.

"Literary heretics fiddle with my rhymes; shrouding inspiration and destroying all my lines."

Thought me up,set me free
I do not belong to thee
come and see what I have wrought
come and see the battle fought
Liberty, Equality
Fraternity..... brought by me.

bob

Nice rhythm, unique idea
could not resist, bending your ear.
Had your fling made me king
kindly said, went to my head
