Incomplete, not even half-written.
What's there to tell?
You can't dictate your life to the stars
When you haven't even reached the clouds.
Angry splotches of yesterday impale
these dead eyes like Hell's headlights
Disconnected dots of dreams still linger
Baby blankets christened by artless tears and laughs
Childish aspirations killed by jaded cynicism
Beloved friend beyond my reach heavenward
Empty glasses spilled that need to be refilled

"This is your life."

This shard of glass, so brutally honest, is my massacre.
For all its truth it can't predict my future
Not knowing what waits me, tomorrow won't tell
The fear of having to walk this path alone
is more than I can take.
All I have to breathe on are loose threads of pipedreams
Alive for the journey, dead to those I left behind
Would they even waste a single tear for me?

"This is your life."

Still I search to fill the cavities in me
All the people I have yet to meet
All the pain I have yet to endure
All the dreams I have yet to discover
And if I should die or fail on the way
I won't say I didn't try.
The road is long and can be bitter, but still they say
Seek and ye shall find.....

"This will be my life."
