Real

Contributed by Lia on Monday, 19th January 2004 @ 02:44:26 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Abandon all your juvenile beliefs
This is how love was meant to be
There are no secrets of life to be told
Fairy tales lie only in books to be read
This life you seek does not exist
But in it's place is something better
The golden flame of a candle burning
The blood red pedals of a rose in spring
The song of a robin crawling on the wind
The rays of the sunset bursting on exposed flesh
The feel of your heartbeat soaked in love
The warmth of a breathe inside a passionate kiss
Heat inside a quarrelsome moment
Oh the romance of a candlelit dinner
Serenity found in embraced hands
Peace that's locked inside those eyes
Say goodbye to happily ever after
Put aside romeo and juliet
In it's place is something better
Real life you'll see is far more pleasurable

I don't view real life the way you do here, but all the same this was an excellent poem, smooth and lovely to read.
