With only the dark for a friend beside me
I fear for I know not where i am
I fear for I know not whats inside me
I close my eyes and hope for light
Something or someone so I know its alright
No where to escape to, no way to see
If only he'd come rescue me
For I'm lost in place, a place of misery
Being empounded by a voice
It's taking me over, controlling my mind
Swallowing me whole, out of this world
It's taken me now, he was to late
For this dark room was my biggest mistake [comments] => 5 [counter] => 158 [topic] => 13 [informant] => fallen_eyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Felt like I was in the opposite corner of that dark room, but couldn't scream. Great poem, and i'm sure a very emotional write for you.

"Cowering in the corner of a lonely room
With only the dark for a friend beside me"

Perfect lines, set the tone for the entire piece very well.

Truly,
-V.S.
