Array ( [sid] => 32018 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Jessica [time] => 2004-01-18 08:28:30 [hometext] => I wrote this poem as I sat beside my daughters bed the night before she died. I am not a poet, just a father still greiving the loss of a child. Jessica was 4 1/2 years old [bodytext] => Jessica you were born to us the perfect little girl
Hair so blonde and plentiful, of waves and little curls
A face so full of beauty for all the world to see
And then your disability made you dependant on Mum and me
What God missed with your muscles He made up with your heart
And an incredible strength of character that set you worlds apart
Your laughter and your smile would make us all a shine
Especially in the mornings when we were grumpy most of the time
Everyone adored you, with your cheeky little grin
With wisdom well beyond your years you could always get them in
But four short years later God has called you to His side
Although we feel great sorrow we let you go with pride
You grew with us and helped us grow in so many ways
With makes this time of passing an incredibly saddening day
Your brothers they will miss you as you made up part of their world
But I know they feel they are lucky to have known such an incredible wonderful girl
Although the grief upon us will last forever more
It will ease in the knowing that you are at heavens door
And through the tears we cry and the feelings of sorrow and of pain
Oh Jessica, our sweet baby we look forward to the day we’ll meet again

We love you darling
Your Mum and Dad
Lord, give us strength

My deepest regards to your family. I lost my mom when I was 5 in a drunk driving accident. I wrote a poem asking where my mom was when I was 6. My grandmother has it and feels thats when a poet was born. We let go of our emotions in different ways maybe ours is dealt in poetry. Again I'm sorry but it's good to know that you love your children and that will always help them grow.
