Since that September morning

I will never forget that day

As I sat at my desk

They struck without warning

And I fell to my knees to pray

Because of violence

Because of hate

All of those lives were lost

Trying to crush "The American Dream"

Terrorizing many a northern state

It was such a horrible cost

They killed many that morning

But what they don't understand

Is "The American Spirit" is within

Cowards, they were

They attacked our fair land

This is one war we won't let them win

"The American Way"

It's ingrained in us from birth

It's something they can't take away

Our way of life continues

Realizing its precious worth

We must continue on today.

It is true that september 11th was a tragedy to all humanity, however, while we are on our knees in prayer... let's remember forgiveness, understanding, and thankfulness. To go around in spite and anger, wanting retalliation, blowing up towns and bunkers where innocent people sleep, that is just as bad as flying a plane into a building full of people. Focus on love, health, forgiveness, and healing, and you will have gotten the message the bible has tried to portray. Finally... remember that our nation is yet to come... and although we as Americans try to live up to the values of love, peace, freedom, and liberty... we are not a perfect country and make more mistakes then are ever told to us. No, our country is yet to come on that great day when The Lord returns. Untill then, our loyalties have to be focused on that time to come, and trying to make this country as good as that one will be. Bless you and may God teach you the path of true righteousness.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
