I've met my destiny twice,
Looked into its eyes,
Was amazed at what I saw.
It was beautiful,
But you have to accept it
To make it your own,
But it is only there
For a certain time,
Much like a comet
Among the stars,
Only visible for
A short time.
I was a fool,
I was like General McClellan
In the Civil War.
I was too cautious,
Too slow.
I met my destiny
Two times;
Both times
I looked into her eyes;
I lost my destiny
Both times.

I like this one. Very good write. Seems we all have done this.. I see mine everyday at my job, but fate allows me to only shy in the corner. I hope you met her once again, and tru love will spark and happiness will begin.

Well this one sure hit home. I read it several times and I felt like someone else had been in the club of lost chances. Wonderful title, and this poem is one that will stand out in my mind.

You sure you are not writing about me? ^_^ Hehe, I had met my destiny more than God-know-how-many times, and still allow it to slip pass me, oh well, I hope there is a third time and you'll make the best of it! Great poem! |
