Array ( [sid] => 31725 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => HOPE LIKE A CHILD [time] => 2004-01-15 03:11:46 [hometext] => Small children always have Hope for a future day. We could learn from them and have hope in every way! [bodytext] => Four candles burned slowly....
Faint light, low flame of beauty.,
and when they spoke, it was very softly.

The first candle said,
"I am "Peace" but in these days of war,
no one wants to see my light shine anymore!"

The second candle said,
"I am "Faith" but now-a-days
I'm no longer indispensable.
This whole world is one of lawlessness,
and everyone is so cruel!"
Then just like the first candle,
"Faith" also goes completely out!

Sadly, the third candle spoke,
"I am "Love," and I haven't the strength
to stay lit, I too will burn out!
Why should I stay lit and let my light shine?
People take no notice, nor even love
those close, as families decline!
I'm not waiting around any longer,
I'm going to go out, I'm no longer sublime!"

Suddenly, a small innocent child enters the room.
When he sees the candles are no longer
glowing, he begins to cry from pure doom!
"Why are you not burning?
You are supposed to stay lit until the end!"

Then the fourth candle speaks softly
to the little child, and says,
"Don't be afraid, little one, for I am your friend.
You see my name is "Hope" and while
I still burn, you may use my flame to
light the other three."

With shining eyes, the small boy asked
with much curiosity.
"But what is "Hope" and what good will that do?"
"Hope" dear child is trust, a confidence,
a reassuring promise of bright prospects ahead.
It's "Hope" like yours, small children's futures
never hold any dread, only wonderful dreams instead!"

So the little child took "Hope's" flame and lit
the other three candles hopefully.
With out the other three, life would be a drudgery.
For with Hope, Peace, Faith and Love,
your heart too can be filled with joy,
and shine brightly!

There is one wee thing I'd like to know,
A small boy used hope, we saw, and so
Big folks need hope all of the time,
Can you fit that into you wonderful rhyme?
