The screaming of a jetplane, as it slams into the tower
The flow of blood, as red as the cardinal flower
The ranting of a madman, high on power
The sorrows grow by the hour.

Innocence lost, lives destroyed
Nothing left to fill the void.
Children crying, loved ones dying
Humanity devoid.

Loss of life
World in strife
And the sorrows continue to grow.

The sorrows of many, combine into one
As we turn our faces to the sun.
We are no longer naive, of that we are stripped bare
For the Beast has crept out of his lair.

Loss of life
World in strife
And the sorrows continue to grow.

Life will continue, of that we are assured
It will no longer be as it once was, for as a nation, we have matured.
We have seen first hand what hatred allows
Violence, death, unholy vows.

Loss of life
World in strife
And the sorrows continue to grow.

Do not allow the hatred to fester in your soul
For it will eat you alive, and make you unwhole.

Loss of life - there will be rebirth.
God has a plan, maybe not of this earth.

World in strife - one day there will be unity.
But humanity as a whole needs to act on that opportunity.

Sorrows will always grow - that is beyond any doubt.
Look to the past and let go, open your eyes to the future
Embrace it with amrs wide open
Do not lash out.

For life is a gift
Given freely from above
Cherish it, treasure it.
For it can be taken from us on the wings of a dove.
