Array ( [sid] => 31640 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Power to the People [time] => 2004-01-14 09:35:54 [hometext] => It's an election year, our chance to oust the tyrant King George and his cronnies..... [bodytext] => ________________________________
I remember the chant from way back then
Hell no we won't go
And I long to hear it again
Tell the war machine your answer's no

I won't die for the rich mans oil
I won't kill to make rich men richer

I want a job with benefits
A place to make a better life
I want my kids to have a chance
I remember when all this was a promise

Policticians come and go in cycles
With their promises more like lies

The homeless man just wants a job
The elderly are forced to make a choice
To pay the rent or buy their meds
The young are struggling in debt

The rich are laughing up their sleeve
While they get tax breaks from DC

Vote they say and you'll be counted
But we saw how that all works
With hanging chads we were discounted
And the Bush King he was crowned

We sit like sheep, complacement
Because he sent us all a check

Poor old Saddam is but a clown
When compared to our King George
Who has more weapons, power and money
Than any other ruler on the planet

Republicans are a rich man's friend
They take from the poor and give to the rich

Tell all the politicians with your vote
You're sick and tired of their crap
We want peace, jobs, healthcare,
education, social security,
clean air, safer streets,
and we're sick and tired of their bull*****

Make this election year a resounding song
Of freedom and power to the people

Amen....voting is the only way to make the changes and big change is badly needed, so vote and be heard.

Very well done
