'bout the size of a large windfall!
How small is it you ask?
Just a whisper can be heard
to accomplish any task.
There's just two humans,
and critter dogs six,
counting legs alone,
that makes 28 legs of Beatnicks!

On bad days, I'm rather paranoid.
24 legs following, I'm easily destroyed.
When dinner is served at seven.
Is like serving an Army squadron
Each carries his own plate full.
Manners are forgotten, it's never dull.
They are all females, with tempers
much of the time, it's a
Critters "Free-For-All!"
With such a wee house, you might
find a french fry floating
in your highball!

Out bathroom's so small...
you have to take a number
and wait in the hall.....
If we tried to fit in one and all,
We'd probably smother!

We sleep in separate rooms,
but still so close.
When we dream, we intervene
in each other's scene.
My short-term memory is shot!
By morning my dream is forgot!
'tis rather nice, Montie can fill
me in where I left off!

Coming through our tiny back door
Undoubtedly proves to be quite a chore.
The squadron appears, with shaking rears,
only those "Brave of Heart" proceed.
Those of "Faint Heart" diappears.
Once inside, must go single file.
Try making 4 Blondes understand
that concept, with a smile!

My bedroom's so crowded.
you can barely swallow,
If you sneeze, you blow out a window.
Even tiny movements are done
(very carefully) in this room!
If you go too fast, you're going to hit
something, and there's no room to fall,
and go boom!
The critters are all so close, you can see
the whites of their eyes.
Lots of kisses as you might surmise.

My kitchen is so without space.
It's like an organized showcase!
You can easily bake a cake in the oven.
Do the dishes, fry an egg, burn the toast,
Microwave the bacon, all from
inside the refrigerator.
Much hanging from the ceiling,
6 dogs lying on the floor.
Don't dare step, or jump, you'll kill
or be killed for surer!!!

Hand to hand furniture, so tight
Can't be moved an inch, without
getting a tail, nose, paw, or toes.
in a tight pinch!
Do we mind? of course not...
We love our crowded life a lot!
For all the rest of the space
is jam-packed with love!
Enforced lovingly with each shove!

ConSueMate, Well you make me ashamed of myself. Our only prooblem is the "junk" we brought with us moving from a big house in Wales to a smaller house in East Anglia (to be nearer to our family) and finally into a bungalow.

There are only three of us (the odd one being Sophie our cat).

You must all be saints!

What a bright and cheery poem, in a way it sounds like my home when i was growing up as a kid, but i had a huge back yard...
This certainly bring one a smile after a hard days work.

Cheers

A small house with love is so much better than a mansion and all alone. I loved your poem, as always.

This was really good. I haven't commented on your poems lately because I've been slightly down. Things just suck and I didn't want to seem so numb when commenting on yours. I loved this though it was very good. It was rather humorous and at least I smiled.
