Still infected with your sweet poison,
I linger on the shore watching the horizon,
With the ghost of your memory in my head,
I can’t conceive the idea that you are now dead

You came in my life with all your confidence,
And kissed away my dull emptiness,
You’ve breached the walls of my defences,
And took possession on all of my senses

For you I lowered my guard,
And lead you straight to my heart,
For your intoxicating love I became addicted,
How was I to know that our time would be so restricted?

We have to take those chances of letting our guard down in order to really experience the joys that life has to offer i think.

I found this very sad, real and full of emotion. A strong write, I enjoyed this, nicely done.

Thanks for the warm welcome :)
