[time] => 2004-01-09 01:04:48 [hometext] => I was thinking about some of the children in the world, that never had a chance. Born in secret, and the mother just leaving them. I know this is not the best subject, but it is what was in my mind. Hope you like it. Remember support the poets and comment [bodytext] => -----------_____________-------------------

Good she thinks, “No one is around”
As she peaks through the door,
Locking it behind her, as her body hits the ground,
Silent screams and silent tears, as her baby is born on the cold bathroom floor.

A mother no one knows about,
A baby the world did not expect,
Mother cleaning the floor, throwing the evidence out,
Not knowing about her neglect, her mind a wreck, the baby lies there, for him she has no respect.

She runs out that room,
The child lies there not knowing why,
Her life will be filled with fear, her thoughts of gloom,
She starts to think, Will the baby cry, could he possibly die?

She stops in her steps, having second thoughts,
Should she go back and rescue this child from death?
Could she risk even being caught?
Still she stands their, crying and out of breath.

She turns to head back, thinking what she can do,
Her head filled with confusion and doubt,
As she gets closer, she sees people gathered around, cops within view,
What happened she thinks, do they know? Did they get the child out?

They walk out; she strains to hear just on little cry,
Hoping her son is still alive,
Hoping because of her, he did not die,
Knowing deep inside, he never had a chance to survive.

She see’s them exit, baby not alive,
She drops to her knees, and starts to cry,
Hoping they don’t know it was she, a secret kept inside,

Another child, who started without a chance,
Another mother second guessing if she could have done more,
Another child, another victim of circumstance,
Born in the place he would rest, on that cold bathroom floor.

I think it is really awesome that you wrote a poem about this subject. I believe it was well written and it will make some people change their mind about some things.

Thank you both for your comments. I just started to think about it while listing to a song. And started to put the thoughts into words. Yes it is sad, and in the world we live in, there are people out there like this. I appreciate your comments and thank you for your support.
