[title] => My Son (Thanks Dad)
[time] => 2004-01-08 15:38:13
[hometext] => One of my biggest dreams.
[bodytext] => For nine long months, I've waited for this day When the doctor would look up at me and say "It's a boy, one to call your very own." I take him away to go make my house a home. Through the years, I watch my son grow. He's still young, his eyes still glow. He doesn't know the world, the hardships and pains. We just laugh and have fun while we play board games. The next few years fly by way too fast like a bee with a bb shot in it's @$$ Now he's in high school, strong and loud He's made me and his mother oh so proud. I've raised him to be strong and answer his own call. He's taken an interest in playing football. "Yeah, that's my son that just scored that touchdown!" Whoa, wait, he's already in his cap and gown! The years passed quickly, time flies when you're having fun. It seems like yesterday his life had begun. What happened to changing Diapers: Huggies and Luvs? Now he's graduating and giving everyone hugs. The years go by slower now, just me and his ma. Then one day he calls, " Hey Dad, you're a grandpa!" Needless to say, I drop the phone Now he has one to call his own. "It's a beautiful baby boy, perfect and small, Thanks Dad, thanks for it all. Thanks for teaching me how to be a man I swear I'm going to do the best that I can. I'll try my hardest to answer my call, and if I can't, I know he has a perfect grandpa. Well, I got to go, I got to be with the fam. Thanks for making me all that I am." As I hang up the phone, I feel a tear on my cheek. Now he has a boy to take care of, every single week. I'm so proud, he's made me so happy. "GUESS WHAT WORLD, I'M A GRANDPAPPY!" But I have to give credit where credit is due I must say this before this poem is through. Yeah, I gave it my best, all that I had, But I couldn't have done it without the influence of my Dad.
