Array ( [sid] => 30906 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Not Mom, just mother [time] => 2004-01-06 15:40:33 [hometext] => dedicated to my mother, though all she ever does is hurt and abuse me I still find myself loving her - this i can't understand! [bodytext] => I'm sorry I can't be your perfect child,
I'll always be the abused one kicked and thrown to the ground.

You never did really fancy my smile,
rather perferring a few tears or a frown.
I'm sorry I can't be like your perfect son,
I'm never there never around to share the "fun."

You slap me with your words of hurt,
but I do admit with your anger I do flirt.
You never did bother to help me in life,
that hurt me, cut as deep as a knife.

I've always longed for your love and affection,
I don't know what you call it, perhaps obsession?
When I stopped the occasional hug and kiss, you'd look at me and tell me how much its missed.

You've hurt me so many times, I could put you away for all your crimes.
I can't stop loving you even though you hurt me,
countless times I've wanted to flee.
But i've remained right here,
to put up with all the fear,
all the shouts, hurts and tears.

I love you mother, thats all you are to me, not Mom, Ma or Mommy, just mother!

heartsick poem. i was abused all my life, and never could understand until I did intensive research on the subject. Scientists were amazed and aghast with a project they did with monkeys. They put baby monkeys in cages with loving mothers.....and ever thing proceeded with normalcy., Then they put the same loving little baby with mothers that were mean. They could not comprehend what was happening. The mean mothers would push them and even throw them away....and yet they came back each time. simply because they kept thinking if they came back each time maybe this would be the time the mean mothers would love them. That's why you go on loving your mother too...we constantly think they are going to change......but some never change....and you are the loser. I'm so sorry your mother treats you so badly, the only level I could handle my mother on was pity. They are very sick people...all you can do is pity them.
Heartfelt poem, well written
Warm Love and hugs,
lovingcritters
