Array ( [sid] => 30875 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => That brave [time] => 2004-01-06 07:51:45 [hometext] => Shelley was a leader of a carers group which was set up in the memory of her son who committed suicide. She worked tiredlessly. Alas, today she died of cancer. [bodytext] => I could never be that brave,
Take the fight to the grave,
Give to others every day,
Let your smile help in every way.

Pain of the past you concealed,
The heroine was never revealed,
Your life was given up for others,
All of us your sisters and brothers.

Now you are gone what do we do,
Keep up the great work just like you,
Work, don’t question the reason why,
Against all odds until the day you die.

I could never be that brave.

I've lost a few family members to cancer in the last five years, watched them be more brave than i think i could ever be. in fact, they gave me strength probably much more so, than i did them.

What i found totally amazing is how they didn't complain, fought with all their physical strength and kept trying to live life to its fullest.

We should learn from them. Very touching poem, you pulled some heartstrings here.
Nicely done,
~ Wendy
