We're feeling sad and blue
(sound familiar, a song from your day perhaps)
Yes, I'm quite right, its because of you

Take one look at yourself, do you like what you see, not me. Why? because my vision of you is the same I have of all the other parents
A controll freak, a drunk, someone with to much time to even think of your own child.
And you probably don't even know it.
Kids will be kids, they need help, don't blow it.
Suicide is such a tempting thought to those who have nothing.Look at your child, no matter how old,I'm sure they need something.
But what do you give, usually nothing.

Now look at yourself, How good was your life
What did you amount to and how long did it take to happen. You see the child does not know how long life is and yours is shorter
SHOULD THE CHILD NOT BE HAPPIER THAN YOUR OWN GREEDY SELF. WELL GUESS WHAT WE ARE NOT HAPPY.

I know what do I know about kids right.
Well yes I might only be 24 ( pretty much still an adolescent teen to you) but I have a 7 and 8 year old daughter, and I know how troublesome they can be, BUT I WILL BE DAMNED IF I DON"T GIVE THEM A BETTER LIFE THAN I HAVE HAD.SO WHY DON'T YOU

I am sorry if you find this wrong but the truth hurts and the children should not.

bravo you may be young but have a strong message...our children should come first in our lives...it is up to us to nurture them and show them by example not words about life...self esteem comes feeling loved but if you never experience love how can you know you are worthy of anyones love

Hi with due respect, this is true of some parents I'm sure.
I'm sorry I jus can't comprehend still why they are so fasinated with death.
Death is the easy way out, living is the hard part.
My heart goes out to all the younger generation as I accept a person as is and try never to judge.
Very good writing here as your words come thru loud-n-clear.
I think everyone thinks about suicide in ones life at least once along the way.
God bless u for standing for the hurting and dieing of our future.
peace, joy, luv, hugss,
emy

My son tried to commit suicide, so did I. My grandaughter recently gave it a try. I remember my own try. You're right, I had no emotional support..I thought we were giving my son what he needed but evidentally not. As for my grandaughter, her mom is an addict, she gets no care and as for me your poem is right on target although I am ashamed to say so as a parent...maybe it's a wake-up call.
thanks

I was there once, and I nearly wasn't here today because of it. Luckily I found support (from childline no less). My eight year old twins will never have to go throught that, and will always have my love and support.
I think you were very brave to write this, lets hope all the children out there find support, and make it through. The world can be a very lonely place.
Brilliant poem, well done.... Dawny x
