Mending wings so I never would
Flying away from the world tonight
Keeping myself high enough and I could

Fly

You show me the way to fly

This broken will and knees bleeding
And the smiles that close old wounds
Climbing higher into and away from darkness
Come back down, still too soon

Just for me to fly

You showed me how to crash and burn

The fires kept you warm, I hope
My fingers are still numb
You devoted yourself to running free
And yet, the fight I've been waging has been all but won

Standing so close to me

And I still fly

Never have I completely returned
Haunted by your worn memory
I just caught myself in the clouds, today
The beauty you blessed me with, completely

Bigger than the both of us

And you taught me how to fly

Bitter words that break me
The wings you ripped from my back
These lips you haven't touched forever
So dry, they bleed and crack

Some day I'll fall into you

You can teach me how to fly

Ah, this feeling coming over me
As these words break through your wall from it
I guess I can just show you some other day
It's all I ever really did

Fly

Fly from me as you search for it

Some day I'll fly to you

Crash and burned into each other

The smiles capture us both as we do

Teach me how to fly

The first line encomasses all the emotion in this one---- wonderfully broken. It's sort of bittersweet, I think..... more sweet..... less bitter..... =)
I really like this one. I enjoyed reading it =)

God bless,
Ellen
