In the not too distant past
A girl learned how to rhyme
And became addicted fast

Everything she thought and felt
She tried to put into words
In this way, she now dealt
With all her life’s hazards

About a particular circumstance
She found her words had no end
Of course we’re talking of romance
And she found it with a friend

This friend had always been dear to her
And she had been dear to him
But what they had was unclear
And things were beginning to look grim

She wrote and she wrote
With a burning desire to express
The feelings, which made her float
Though her life, was a mess

She managed to screw things up
Before they could really begin
They were already having a breakup
Before a couple, they’d ever been

She hurt him without intending to
And he hurt her in return
She knew her love for him was true
Of her feelings, she wanted him to learn

She led him to all of her words
And simply put, he was surprised
Slowly they began to move forward
Until once again, he shied

This time, she saw the end
And saw no hope for anything more
She decided a few last words to send
That told of the her words’ departure

She was tired and felt only pain
As, from her, he quickly withdrew
From feeling, she tried to abstain
For nothing, could she do for his issue

He decided to talk to her once more
His presence, to her, was a shock
His smile and his voice were her cure
Her heart was his to unlock

Once again her words have no end
And her feelings, she must express
To the grave, her words she did send
A resurrection she needs and no less

With this resurrection
Her words gain eternal life
No matter her life’s direction
She’ll write of all, from splendid to strife

Excellent!
Accepts the discipline
tells the story
has the drama
technique
the sorrow
the pathos
deep emotion
What more could one ask
