[hometext] => This is a poem of love that is for those moving on and leaving the ills that came with the one who gave them.
[bodytext] => By: A. Paul I could tell you I loved you… But soon you would pull away And my words, I would soon find, would be spent in haste. I could cry on your shoulder… Letting my tears soak you like rain. But the wetness from my eyes would mean more to me Than just the wet spot you see on your shirt I could clasp your hand, seeking your touch, fueling from your heat… But you would not bare mine back. Too quickly you would become cold, far too frigid for me to hold I could whisper a kiss upon a perfumed letter… Letting my lips dance over you like sun But I think you are not bold enough to open it And my kiss would be unsent, Turning stale with age as it gathered dust upon your table I could pick you a flower, free from thorns and full of life… But you would not spare it water, Draining the vibrant colors and washing them from the petals to the faded floor I could rest my words and be patient… Giving you the space of the world if needed, between us But you would not be gracious and my patience would be wasted I could send my good byes on the wings of a sparrow… And tell you never again will my heart be ill-spun But you would miss my hurt only catching my resentment…which is fine Since it was you from which it came [comments] => 1 [counter] => 251 [topic] => 48 [informant] => burgandy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
