I Wish

Contributed by eternal_sorrows on Saturday, 27th December 2003 @ 04:25:07 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I only wish you were here
to take away all my fear
to hold my hand and walk me through
this path of life I'm destined to.

Inside I scream of hurt and sorrow
wishing for better days tomorrow
yet, tomorrow is just another day
no different then yesterday.

Silent tears do not heal
this inner pain which I feel
and hopes and dreams don't take away
this loneliness I feel today.

Why can't I just accept
memories past I can't forget
start all over, fresh anew
see life from a different view?

Though hard I try to move on
deep emotions still stir strong.
They haunt me every now and then
making me yet, grieve again.

Yes, I only wish you were here
for I still love you and miss you dear

I feel this. I have someone I truly miss too. I hope everything works out for you. This was beautiful.

Always hope and believe in your dreams
It helps you to cope with the trivial things.

It's the way we are made. We had to have a good memory to survive through the 3 or 4 million years since we first walked tall and made tools.

Would you really like to forget. I suffered an injury during the war when I was in the RAF
and lost my memory for a short period. Apparently I walked and talked normally but I dont remember any of it.

Suddenly, as I was going into the canteen "I woke up" at least my memory returned slowly.

The first thing I heard myself say was........"At least I know my name's Mackay!" Gradually I clawed it back, a frightening experience, but never the bit between the crash and that point.

It's always bugged me. I would hate to have lost more than that short period.
