Array ( [sid] => 30106 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Tears for them [time] => 2003-12-24 13:02:12 [hometext] => I have a lot to be thankful for, especially at this festive time.Even so, I will always try to remember those who are not so fortunate [bodytext] => Tears for them at this time of year
Those who stare through raindrops at the window for the ones they love
Regretting careless cutting words, stumbled on in anger.
Watch too the sombre souls in each grey winter morn
Tending the grave of lost ones so lovingly

Tears for them at this time of year
Whose greatest gift is the purest water of life
Hot sun stealing hope, still a prayer that the rains come
Pity those whose cardboard home does not shun the cold
Crouching in doorways in a blanket of white

Tears for them at this time of year
Who suffer so much pain in a hospital bed
Knowing that soon from this earth they will fade
Watch the sad faces of innocents who do not understand
Santa Claus is poor today, he has no toys to give

Tears for them at this time of year
Who never notice or count the days
False worlds of alcohol wash away memories, taking the good with the bad
Think of those who anothers will controls
Minds beaten to submit to thoughts not their own

Tears for them not just this time of year
For the suffering will not stop on a New Years Day
Open your mind, let it open your heart.
When the nights draw in let your love pour out
For it never costs to care. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 173 [topic] => 32 [informant] => puppy_dog_eyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

I liked this especially the parallelism of how each stanza started. Good poem hope to see more from you.
