Array ( [sid] => 29873 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Grand Farewell [time] => 2003-12-21 11:37:08 [hometext] => This poem is the story of the kind of friend you do not need. A friend who will betray you is no friend at all. [bodytext] =>

I've learned a lesson today.
I thought you were my friend,
but you pushed me away.
I decided to make it end.

I looked at every day;
Saw clues in every place.
This thing was not to stay
accepting in every face.

I have a brand new life now,
of which your not a part.
Get on with your life somehow,
I've patched the hole in my heart.

I know it could make you sad
but the friend that's not is you.
I've moved on and I'm glad.
I'm no longer blue.

It's not a grand farewell, you know.
It's just a simple choice.
It's not that hard to let it go.
Listen - it's my voice.

I'm telling you - can't you see
this is the way it's got to be?
A lot of pain just doesn't show
it's up to you to let it go. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 397 [topic] => 52 [informant] => Hannah_jeannie_Brazeau [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )
