Demokrasi dan kuasa rakyat
Yang cuma janji-janji kosong?
Hidup dijajah, diperhambakan,
Diperkosa dan diaibkan,
Dari cermin TV ke warkah akhbar,
Untuk penghiburan manusia sejagat?

Malam ini, kutengok CNN:
Perang masih tercetus: Kemerdekaan
Dicerobohi penjajah, yang menuntut
Kebebasan dikasari, miskin dan kaya sama
Dibelenggu, sambil wakil-wakil pembelot
Memperhambakan nusa dn bangsa;
Menjual maruah dan tanah diri.
Kepada Sang Penjajah yang mendakwa dirinya
Wakil Dunia Bebas?

Tak hairanlah kalau yang cintai
Kebebasan dan kasih sayang kemarahan,
Kemarahan; melihat tergadainya
Bumi Iraq dan keajaibannya,
Dan kau yang pecah amanahmu
Sampai hatimu membelot,
Tak terhenti-henti membodek Mat Salleh
Yang cuma nak menindas rakyat jelata?
Fikirkan! fikirkanlah! Gunakanlah akalmu,
Kalau kau pernah dianugerahkan akal sendiri!

Harga bumi itulah harga diri,
Macam mana kau boleh menjual
Darah daging sendiri?
Harga tanah pusaka tak terhingga,
Milainya kau tak boleh rendahkan,
Yang kau dah lalai ingati-
