The Barricade That Keeps Us

Contributed by Lia on Thursday, 29th August 2002 @ 06:18:26 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Memories cast through broken stone
Daydreams built on tiers of silk
Tears stretched across the balance of time
And my heart layed out upon this slab of ice
Jagged icicles reach for the earth
Twisted souls reach for the sky
Somewhere in the middle they grace each other
Bringing mountainess thunder upon the land
Pushing fate against the odds
Crashing through the tangled walls
Built on love and faith and dreams
These life crippled humans finally meet
Cried through miles of pointless sin
To find our way through battle scars
Unknown forces tied to the present
Screeching anger linked to the past
We sift our way through all life's ashes
Sneaking past all blackened hearts
Keeping our eyes on the glare of true loves glow
If we blinked now we'd surely pass our chance
We'll just close our eyes and link our souls
Grasp the goodness in our hearts
Perch our minds on sands of time
Let the ice bring forth it's flow
As the frozen barricade finally melts...
